2024 IA Interior Architects Diversity in Design Scholarship 
 

IA Interior Architects established the IA Interior Architects Diversity in Design Scholarship in partnership with the IIDA Foundation to support and elevate minority students that represent diverse voices in interior design, with the goal of increasing representation and equity of thought and practice across the industry.
 
A diverse design community drives innovation and inclusion by incorporating varying experiences, voices, and ideas, and as a key part of the future of design, minority students should be a major force pushing the industry towards more diverse and inclusive workplaces.
 
The program awards one $5,000 scholarship, one $3,000 scholarship, and four $500 scholarships annually. Graduate and undergraduate minority students who are currently enrolled in an interior design or architecture programs worldwide are encouraged to apply.
 

IA 2024 Essay Prompt

Over the past year, in honor of IA's fortieth anniversary, our firm has spent a lot of time ideating about the future and how we can continue to build sustainable communities. For our essay topic this year, we'd like to ask our student applicants to consider how we make our design communities more resilient and flexible in the face of constant disruption and change.

Please share your perspective on the current state of diverse representation in our industry, and how can increased equity contribute to resiliency and a sense of belonging? (500 words maximum)
